CIRCULAR ROUTE THROUGH THE PICOS DE EUROPA NATIONAL PARK
The purpose of this project is to publicize the most charming places of the National Park through all its refuges. From a historical context, the Ring of Peaks develops in what It was formerly known as the Montes Vindios, where the last Cantabrian tribe that fought against the Roman troops took refuge.
The Ring of Peaks has 3 modalities, the first of them is known as the Vindio Ring, which covers the Western Massif, the second the Extrem Ring that apart from the Western massif also covers the Central Massif and finally the Ring 3 Massifs that develops in the three massifs, Western, Central and Eastern.

PROGRAM
We will leave the Hotel Refugio de Áliva to descend through La Lomba in the ports of Áliva, in Las Vegas de Sotres we will begin our ascent through the Jidiellu channel to the Valdominguero pass to descend through the entire Eastern Massif to the Casetón de Ándara from there we will go to Sotres.
From Sotres we will go to the Collado de Pandébano to ascend to the Urriellu Refuge after passing through the Arenera gallows to Cabrones and from there down the Amuesa canal to Poncebos.
Finally we will do the Cares route to Cain.
Distance: 54km – 42km + 12km to Cain
Elevation difference: +2750m – 4138m
Duration: 8-10 hours
We will leave Caín through Hierbas Altas sharing the route with the El Cainejo Ultra Challenge to the Trea Channel. From there we will go to the Covadonga Lakes passing through the Vega de Ario Refuge. Afterwards we will connect with the Vega Redonda Refuge.
From here we will take a spectacular route to the Vegabaño Refuge surrounded by lush mountains.
We only have to go down to Posada de Valdeón to complete the entire Western massif in one brutal day.

Duration: 8-10 hours
We will leave from the inn to Cordiñanes where we will begin to climb a spectacular canal to the Collado Jermoso refuge passing through the Vega de Asotín with spectacular views of the Western massif where we were the day before.
We will arrive at the Collado Jermoso refuge and then connect with Cabaña Verónica with the possibility, depending on the mood, of doing the summit of Horcados Rojos or El Tesorero.

The departure time will be at 9 in the morning on the first two days, while the last day will be from 10:00 to 10:30
